      <image:title>About Leila - Leila Finn Health coaching is about empowerment. It’s a life skill. While working with me, I want my clients to learn the coaching skills I have so they have them to use for the next change they want to make or challenge they need to manage.</image:title>
      <image:caption>Leila Finn, M.A. and NBC-HWC, began her career in health and wellness coaching at the Decatur Family YMCA. Her own experience with diabetes led her to volunteer at her local YMCA, where she worked for 7 1/2 years as a Wellness Coach. She has been a Lifestyle Coach in the Diabetes Prevention Program and worked as a Wellness Ambassador for the Georgia Division of Aging where, as a Master Trainer in the Stanford University Diabetes Self Management Program and the Stanford Chronic Disease Self Management Program, she led trainings and workshops in North Georgia. She has experience coaching groups and individuals in a wide variety of settings and delivery platforms. Leila is an Integrative Health Coach, certified by Duke Integrative Medicine, and a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. She is also an ACE certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer. At Emory Continuing education she developed curriculum and was lead instructor for Emory's health coach certificate program. She's taught health coaching at Georgetown Continuing Education and mentored at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine health coach program. She is a contributing author in "The Professional's Guide to Health and Wellness Coaching" from the American Council on Exercise (ACE), Chapter 2 "Core Components of Coaching". Leila also teaches coaching at ACE. Leila has a Master's degree in cultural anthropology and her interests include cultural shifts in diet and food.       <image:caption>An Integrative Approach An integrative approach to health encompasses the whole person and recognizes that many factors coalesce in defining good health. Health problems and their solutions are multifaceted, and an integrative approach better allows us to recognize and touch on all the moving parts. An integrative approach recognizes that our health goals do not reside in silos. Like diabetes, heat disease or pain, a chronic condition will affect more than one part of our lives. Likewise one action can have multiple benefits. If stress and frustration at work contribute to a person’s high blood pressure taking a pill might help but won’t solve the problem at work. Finding ways to reduce or better cope with stress at work might help lower the need for medication or provide additional benefit. An integrative approach helps us look at our health with a bigger lens, considering all the parts that interrelate to create goo d health.
